2026 equimillion equestrian competition

Newcastle Racecourse is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2026 sponsorship application program for the Equimillion Equestrian Competition, a premier event boasting at least $1 million in prize money across top disciplines, including Dressage, Show Horse, Eventing, and Showjumping, with divisions for Junior, Amateur, and Open Professional competitors.

The four-day extravaganza will take place over the October Long Weekend, from Friday 2 October to Monday 5 October 2026, at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre.

The Event Schedule is as follows:

Friday 2 October – Show Horse & Dressage
Saturday 3 October – Dressage & Eventing Dressage
Sunday 4 October – Eventing Jumping & Cross Country
Monday 5 October – Show Jumping

Newcastle Racecourse Sponsorship Eligibility

Applications are open to riders who meet one or more of the following criteria:

Rider to have ridden trackwork for a registered Newcastle Racecourse trainer within the past 12 months
Rider to have worked for a registered Newcastle Racecourse trainer within the past 12 months
Ride or own a Thoroughbred that has raced or trained at Newcastle Racecourse in the past five years
Riders are encouraged to submit a photo of themselves with their horse during competition along with their application.

Successful applicants (two riders only) will be personally contacted by 31 August 2026, via phone and email.

A public announcement will follow, naming the riders competing on behalf of Newcastle Racecourse. Riders must be available for photos and media opportunities.
