Tempranillo missed the start when narrowly beaten on this track on April 12. The longer trip suits and he is bred to handle a wet track.
Stablemate Dwayne has been placed on soft tracks in two of his three starts and the blinkers come off.
Golen Smile has been placed in all three starts this preparation one on a heavy track.

Race 2 – Bottlemart Maiden Plate 1250m
2-year-old colt Rustemo has only had two starts and performed well in both. He was beaten a length in the Max Lees Classic in November on debut and first up at Hawkesbury a month ago he came form near last on the turn when beaten two lengths on a soft track.
Walk The Pier has been trialling well and was narrowly beaten on debut at Kembla in November.
Carnegie Hill was placed twice in November.

Race 3 – Ausure Hospitality Maiden Plate 1250m
Blue Willows debut run at Newcastle on April 12 was an eye catcher when she came from 12-14 lengths off the lead to finish third 3.5 lengths form the winner. She is a half-sister to nine-time group 1 winner Anamoe which won a number of races on wet tracks.
Twinkling Star has been placed in her last two starts at Kembla and Hawkesbury while Maide of Moolah is close to a win.

Race 4 – Impact Building Benchmark 64 Handicap 1890m
General Soho has won three from seven at Newcastle including three on soft tracks. He was narrowly beaten on the Kensington track on March 13, and he was only beaten two lengths in the Quirindi Cup in February.
Koning is missing his form, but his Newcastle form is good.
November Falls is in good form

Race 5 – The Tooheys New Plate Super Maiden Handicap 1500m
Pieronimo had no luck first up at Scone when held up in the straight on April 14. His best two runs have been on soft tracks, and it is an open race.
The Beast resumes and he has been placed in four of six starts and has had two recent trials.
Star Prediction has a place chance.

Race 6 – Bidfood Newcastle Benchmark 64 Handicap 1500m
Brutal Bowler has been consistent this preparation without winning but he races well on wet tracks. He raced keenly early when between two lengths into second place on a soft 7 on this track on April 26. It is a wide-open race with Arrowfield trained Tapa Kick a Randwick winner in February, a good chance.
Willie Oppa was a last start winner at Hawkesbury

Race 7 – Pitcher Partners Benchmark 68 Handicap 1250m
First Person stormed home from well back on a heavy track to win at Wyong on March 12. He is a winner in his only start on this track and the Gibbons-Lees combination have many chances on the day.
Nosey Parker has won four races on wet tracks and four of his five have been at Newcastle.
Invasive Dreams will appreciate the long straight.

Race 8 – McCain Surecrisp Class 1 Handicap 1300m
Lyles is a speed horse with good recent form and is a winner on a wet track. He has been placed at Rosehill and Warwick Farm in recent starts.
Tasoraay is ultra consistent with a win and three placings from five starts.
Reducio won first up at Wyong and has drawn well.
