Race 1 – EngageVR Maiden Handicap 1200m

Amathuba deserves to break through after being placed in all four starts. She has been placed three times on the Newcastle track. First up over the unsuitable 900m trip on this track on January 29 she was runner up. She will appreciate the 1200m and draws well.

Pie Party has had two starts for two placings on this track and Annulus is racing well.

Race 2 – Webber Architects Benchmark 64 Handicap 1200m

Legend Rules broke through for his first win at Gosford on February 3. He led all the way after two placings at Wyong and Gosford. He has a 1 ½ kilogram claim and he should lead again.

Pole Position has raced twice for an easy Muswellbrook win and a close second at Gosford.

Damaged has been placed in four of his past five starts.

Race 3 – Bonvilla Estate 2YO Maiden Handicap 900m

Flashing Steel is a fast colt and his chances will be enhanced if the track is soft. He came from way back when placed at Rosehill on debut on January 15. In his only other start, he was a distant third in the Group 3 Canonbury Stakes after racing in second place.

Perpignan was placed in fast time at Scone on debut recently while Eurydice has trialled well.

Race 4 –HVTC Maiden Plate 900m

Allusionist has good metropolitan Maiden form and this is a winnable race. The gelding was placed at Warwick Fam on January 5, and he was only two lengths away when fourth on the same track in December. He has the speed to overcome the barrier.

Never Careless has been trialling well and Tapis Magique has a chance.

Race 5 –Calvary Mater Newcastle Maiden Plate 1600m

Stormy Legend’s last run was a career best when he came from last in a big field at Warwick Farm to finish second. The longer trip and the big track are ideal, and he has a 1 ½ kilogram claim.

Summit Special was placed on debut and Sindagar can improve.

Race 6 – ConnectAbility Class 1 and Maiden Plate 1890m

Monfelicity is a New Zealand bred stayer of promise with sound recent form. She led all the way and bolted in over the 2100m on the Beaumont track on January 31. She was placed at Gosford two starts back.

Crime Spree came from last to win at Canberra last start and Rosovo was impressive on debut.

Race 7 – Prosperity Advisers Group Benchmark 64 Handicap 1600m

Adulting is a promising mare crying out for a dry track. Despite the wet track she outclassed a Newcastle Maiden field recently. She will appreciate the longer trip.

Elected bolted in at Taree last start and Tipitina was good at Scone.

Race 8 –EquiEnergy Youth Benchmark 64 Handicap 1200m

Hammoon Star will be fitter second up after being 2 lengths away first up at Scone recently. She had good country form last preparation and finished a creditable fourth at Warwick Farm in October.

Star Dynasty is knocking on the door and Sebring’s Rose can run well here.
