Gary Harley- Preview 31.10.20

Race 1 – Iron Jack 4YO & Up Maiden Plate 1850m

Microna will be at short odds and he looks the bet of the day. His last five starts on provincial tracks have resulted in four seconds and in much better fields than this one. Last start he was held up at the top of the straight and should have finished closer to Cessnock Cup winner Unamerican.

Fine Ruby ran on well when placed at Hawkesbury last start and Under The Pump can fill a place.

Selections: 3- Microna              2- Fine Ruby            5- Under The Pump

Race 2 – Yarraman Park F&M Maiden Plate 1250m

Always On Show raced keen up front when a tiring third, first up on this track two weeks back but she is clearly the best performed in the race. The filly finished fourth in the Group 3 Ken Russell at the Gold Cost in May and she was only 2½ lengths behind September Run in a listed race at Doomben in May.

Eleusa is on debut after a nice trial and Haven won a recent trial.

Selections: Always On Show                6- Eleusa                2- Haven

Race 3- New Zealand Bloodstock Class 1 Handicap 900m

Triple Ace led all the way to win a Maiden over this course first up two weeks back. He is a fast horse and he will be hard to beat despite a sharp rise in class. He has never been out of a place in three starts and has drawn perfectly.

Mission Legend is also quick and he won a Warwick Farm trial by 5½ lengths on October 23

Isalute is a winner over this course and trialled recently

Selections: 5- Triple Ace 3- Mission Legend             2- Isalute

Race 4 – Rarity Wholesale Class 1 Handicap 1400m

Shaddy was very impressive in winning first up on this track two weeks ago. He was only beaten half a length by the smart Le Gai Soleil at Canberra in May. He was drawn wide but he has no speed and always races at the tail of the field.

We All Agree had no luck at Bathurst last start and he will appreciate the long straight.

Another Alibi won well at Kembla on debut recently.

Selections: 7- Shaddy               9- We All Agree       10- Another Alibi

Race 5- Hunter Valley Premium Meats Conditional Benchmark 68 Handicap 1600m

La Tigresa has had three starts on this track for a win and two seconds. She led over the 1600 here last start and was nailed on the line. Both times she has been runner up on this track she has been unlucky.

Hit The Target has a big weight but he drops sharply in grade and he races well at Newcastle.

Super loves this tack and he bolted in here last start

Selections: 3- La Tigresa 1- Hit The Target      4- Super

Race 6 – Hungerford Hill Wines Maiden Handicap 1500m

Savvy Legend has put the writing on the wall with seconds at his past two starts on this track. He was held up on the turn when runner up on this course on October 13 and two starts back he stormed home when narrowly beaten on this track.

Mr Gee caught the eye when a fast finishing second at Hawkesbury on debut recently

Kakariki has a place chance.

Selections:          1- Savvy Legend                 3- Mr Gee              8- Kakariki

Race 7 – The Prince Of Merewether CG&E Maiden Plate 1250m

Edmond wasn’t far away in his only two starts on metropolitan tracks in the winter. He was beaten a long head on debut at Canterbury on May 27 and he was run down late at Warwick Farm on June 17. He won a recent Randwick trial by 6.8 lengths.

Stoltz is first up after a lovely trial and Supreme Leader has trialled well

Selections:          4- Edmond              11- Stoltz                 12- Supreme Leader

Race 8- Avid Project Management Benchmark 64 Handicap 1250m

Riva Capri was disappointing in a recent trial but she races best fresh and she was placed in two metropolitan runs last prep. She was beaten a long head on the Kensington track in May and she was placed at Warwick Farm in June.

Gumshoe races well on this track and Tim’s Principal is capable

Selections:  1- Riva Capri                   4 – Gumshoe               8- Tim’s Principal
