Newcastle Racecourse is gearing up for a Boxing Day celebration unlike anything the city has seen, with the iconic Hot Dub Time Machine locked in to fire up the Hunter’s biggest post-Christmas party.
The long-running Boxing Day Races return in 2025 with fast horses, festive crowds and a soundtrack that will push the celebrations well into the evening.
While the day has become a much-loved local ritual, the addition of Hot Dub Time Machine is certainly raising the bar for anyone looking to shake off the family for an epic post-Christmas celebration.
One of the world’s most recognisable festival acts, Hot Dub Time Machine’s dance-through-the-decades show is an all-killer, no-filler ride through the hits that shaped generations. For the uninitiated, you can expect nostalgia, anthems, and the kind of crowd-wide sing-alongs that become the stuff of legend.
The whole thing kicks off at 11:00 am with the track coming to life with a full card of racing, cold drinks and the unmistakable buzz of a Newcastle summer. But as the final horse crosses the line and the afternoon sun begins to dip, the attention will shift from the track to the stage.
“Boxing Day at Newcastle Racecourse is something special, it’s the moment our community reconnects, celebrates, and keeps the Christmas spirit alive,” Newcastle Racecourse CEO, Duane Dowell, said.
“With Hot Dub Time Machine closing the day, we’re expecting our biggest, most electric Boxing Day crowd yet.”
