Grand Eagle is a former Kiwi having his second start for Allan Denham. His first run at Newcastle on May 18 was very good as he came from well back to finish third. He draws well and has Mitchell Bell aboard.

Chanteresse will be favourite and her record of four placings from four starts is outstanding.

Greenskeeper with three seconds in succession and has a place chance.

Race 2- Newcastle and Hunter Community Rugby League CG&E Class 1 Handicap 1200m

Ruling Symbol bolted in on this track last start, so he will be fitter this time and he races well on his home track. Aaron Bullock has returned in great form and has the mount.

Cry Of Achilles was narrowly beaten at Gosford nine days ago and won at Kembla two starts back.

Go Fish Go failed last start at Hawkesbury but he won well at Wyong three starts back.

Race 3- Wallsend Junior Rugby League Maiden Handicap 1870m

Castel Sant’angelo has been placed in two of three starts and he is an on pacer. He was narrowly beaten at Warwick Farm in October and first up he was a runner up when an odds-on favourite at Hawkesbury.

De Valera ran on strong over the mile at Kembla last start and he will appreciate the longer trip.

Race 4- Dora Creek Workers Club Maiden Plate 1200m

Oslo chased home a smart horse when runner up at Gosford on May 25. The longer trip on the big track and from the soft draw appeals strongly.

Emergent is first up after a couple of nice trials. He has only had two starts and finished close up at Randwick and Canterbury

Race 5- Country Rugby League 2YO Maiden Plate 900m

Lanigera is a class above these but he will probably run at Randwick. He has been placed in a Group 3 at Caulfield. In his absence the Lees colt Mandirigma looks the winner. He has won his last three trials and has drawn well.

Elusive Eagle has been trialling well.

Race 6- Teralba Butchery Class 1 Handicap 1600m

Moana Jewel is a New Zealand bred mare which has only had two runs in New South Wales, she found form last start at Hawkesbury when she ran Romantic Whisper to a head. Bred to stay this mare goes to a suitable trip third up.

Saving is knocking on the door after a narrow defeat on this track last start.

Terroir is lightly raced, and she is a winner on this track.

Race 7- DRB Consulting Engineers F&M Class 1 Handicap 1200m

Two very fast fillies here.

Aim For Perfection was very impressive in a debut win on this track recently. She won six trials before that run.

Outback Diva won by five lengths at Kembla last time out after missing the start.

Carambola was placed behind Frankely Awesome on this track in September.

Race 8- BRP Industries Specialised Solutions Newcastle Nobbys Benchmark 70 handicap 1300m

Think Free had a freshen up after a trip to Brisbane. She has won three from seven and is a winner on this track. She races well fresh and is unbeaten on soft tracks.

Loved One is unbeaten in two runs this prep and she has won two races on this track.

Invicta is a back marker with a strong finish
