Race 1- Kalans Memorial Newcastle Nobby’s 900m

Hibiscus Lady is a brilliant speedster with three wins and a second from five starts. She was awesome first up at Gosford recently when she led all the way over 1000m. Last prep the mare bolted in on this track over this trip. Louise Day had her first ride on the mare last start, and she retains the ride.

Bentley Magic was runner up to Hibiscus Lady at Gosford and he is the main threat.

Silver Melody has a place chance.

Race 2- Metroll F&M Benchmark 64 Handicap – 1300m

Black And Tan is racing well enough to win this race. She was only beaten a length on the Kensington track last start and two starts back she was less than a length from the winner at Warwick Farm. The mare is a strong finisher and she will appreciate the long straight.

Sharapova has good credentials with a Warwick Farm Maiden win first up and a solid run at Rosehill last start.

Vive Marie has won here and she has a 3-kilogram claim.

Great Danger carries the Le Romain colours and this is a winnable race for him. He was an odds on favourite first up at Wyong recently and he had no luck. He was continually steadied between the 400 and 300 metres but chased hard late. In February he was nailed on the line at Canterbury.

Invincible Dash won well at Gosford in his second start and he is a threat.

Bullet Fly resumes and he is a winner on this track

Moon Panther has been placed in both starts this prep and he was run down late at Scone.

Race 8- Newcastle Spring Racing Carnival- September 20 & 21- Maiden 1200m

Famous, a regally bred colt could be too classy for this field. He hasn’t raced since a close second to Deep Sea on the Kensington track in April and he trialled nicely at Rosehill recently.

Somervell was well fancied when close up on the Kensington track in April and he comes off a respectable trial.

Version Two tried hard when runner up on debut at Gosford recently and he has a chance.
