RACE 1 MINCO TECH AUSTRALIA CLASS 1 & MAIDEN 2350M

Former Kiwi Whangamata could open his Australian account in this race. He has been placed in two of his three starts in the country and the four-year-old gives the impression he will run the trip.

Annie Saturday finished strong when placed over 2100 at Gosford last start in a superior field than this.

Dads Boy comes back to a suitable distance and is a winner on the track.

Selections:

4 Whangamata

1 Annie Saturday

3 Dads Boy

RACE  2 CIVIL SYDNEY MAIDEN PLATE 1885M

Iron Duke is ready to win after two creditable runs this time in. He caught the eye after coming from last to finish fourth at Tamworth first up. On August 14 Iron Duke was beaten less than a length at Gosford.

Cool Dude Ausbred will appreciate the longer trip and he was a Warwick Farm placegetter earlier this year.

Broadlea went well first up and she had good form last prep.

Selections:

4 Iron Duke

1 Cool Dude Ausbred

7 Broadlea

RACE 3 MGA INSURANCE CLASS 2 1400M

Gretzky has been placed in both starts this prep and he will be hard to beat in a quality Class 2 field. He led to the final stages when beaten less than a length at Canterbury last start.

Moondancer is unbeaten on this track and he will have a lovely run from the rails barrier.

The Cartoonist is chasing a hat trick after two Hawksbury wins and he cannot be taken lightly.

Selections:

2 Gretzky

1 Moondancer

3 The Cartoonist

RACE 4 LEAH JAY F&M CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1400M

Former German mare Vive Marie is the class runner and her poor first up performance can be forgotten. She went to pieces in the mounting yard and pulled hard for 700 metres. The mare has been placed in Listed Races in Germany.

Misteed has good Canterbury form including a nose second there last start.

Greyfull Glamour like the track and she wasn’t far away first up.

Selections:

1 Vive Marie

6 Misteed

7 Greyfull Glamour

RACE 5 CUMI AUSTRALIA MAIDEN PLATE 900M

Chabreet resumes here on the back of an easy Rosehill trail. In March the colt finished fourth in the Group 3 Pago Pago. He has natural speed and the short course is ideal.

Sent From Above has speed to burn and she was run down late over this trip here on August 11.

Akeed was only two lengths away behind a smart horse on this track on August 16.

Selections:

7 Chabreet

4 Sent From Above

6 Akeed

RACE 6 ELK DESIGNS MAIDEN 1200M

Nitride was very unlucky on debut at Scone on August 7. He was slow out and he made up a ton of ground in the straight. The longer trip is in his favour and RT goes aboard.

Oakfield Romance has a terrible barrier but she is going well. The mare had no luck when coming from near last to finish fourth on this track last start.

Niatross trialled nicely at Gosford in preparation for his debut run.

Selections:

3 Nitride

1 Oakfield Romance

5 Niatross

RACE 7 HUNTER COATINGS NEWCASTLE NOBBYS 1200M

What Could Be has a great chance in an open race. He was only 2 ½ lengths away in the Bengella Cup at Muswellbrook last start and two starts back he came from last to go down by half a length on this track.

Masterati is a front runner and with the rail out he may be hard to run down.

Miss Faith is chasing a hat trick and if the rain comes her chances will be enhanced.

Selections:

2 What Could Be

1 Masterati

5 Miss Faith

RACE 8 WARREN ‘SNOPPY’ ARTHUR MEMORIAL MAIDEN 1400M

The best-bred blueblood all day is Girl Tuesday a 4-year-old mare on debut. Her ‘dad’ is the race sire of Winx and her ‘mum’, Tuesday Grey won four Group 1’s and $3.2 million. Girl Tuesday was never off the bit coming from second last to be beaten a head in the trial at Rosehill. She has drawn well and the 1400 first up is in her favour.

Fury Of The Storm has been placed in all three starts but has to overcome a wide draw.

Miss Moana came from well back when beaten half a length on debut here on July 10.

Selections:

6 Girl Tuesday

4 Fury Of The Storm

11 Miss Moana
