Newcastle Racecourse is excited to announce the sponsorship of four riders in the upcoming Equimillion event to be held on the October long weekend at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre.

Hannah Hopkins and Makaylah Fenwick have been successful in receiving NJC sponsorships to compete in the Equimillion equestrian event with a minimum $1 million in prizemoney exclusively for retired Thoroughbred racehorses across disciplines of Eventing, Jumping, Dressage and Show horse.

In addition, part Sponsorships have also been awarded to Eleanor Rogers and Emma Bickley who both ride trackwork at Newcastle Racecourse.

The club received a large number of applications showing the high interest in the inaugural event.

Hannah Hopkins will be competing in the Amateur Show Jumping and Eventing with a horse she owned when racing and trained by her husband Jay Hopkins, Found Out.

16 year old Makaylah Fenwick will be competing in the Junior Show Jumping with ‘Grace And Glory’ who was trained by Paul Perry.

Eleanor Rogers will compete in the  Amateur Eventing with ‘Cristal Breeze’ who won the Provincial Championships in 2021 for trainer Kris Kees and Australian Bloodstock while Emma Bickley will ride ‘Striking One’ in the Amateur Eventing discipline.

The timetable of events is below:
Saturday 30th September 2023 – Show Horse and Eventing Dressage
Sunday 1st October 2023 – Dressage and Eventing Jumping and Cross Country
Monday 2nd October 2023 – Show Jumping
