Courtesy Bus
Newcastle Racecourse operates a complimentary courtesy bus that runs from Newcastle Racecourse to The Prince of Merewether after Saturday race meetings. This bus runs on loop from 3:30pm onwards and the pickup location is on Darling St.
Air Travel
The closest airport is Newcastle Airport, a short 35 minute drive from Newcastle. Newcastle Airport is serviced by several airlines from major cities including Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Newcastle Racecourse is ideally located on Darling Street, Broadmeadow – just 3km outside of Newcastle’s CBD.
Newcastle Racecourse offers over 300 complimentary parking spaces within their parking grounds. On street parking is also available on Darling and Chatham street.

Depending on the race day, and which type of ticket or package you would like to purchase, you may need to pre-book. Please see our individual race days for pricing if you wish to attend – click here. Typically, you can save money on General Admission tickets by purchasing online, however if you would like to purchase your tickets on the day at the gate, the price may increase.

Yes, all of our midweek race meetings are free entry for all ages, with the exception of feature race days such as the Spring and Autumn Racing Carnivals.
Unfortunately, no. Due to strict food safety regulations, we ask that guests do not bring any external food or beverages onto the racecourse grounds. This helps us to better manage food handling practices, allergen control and hygiene across the racecourse ensuring a safe environment for everyone.
We completely understand that some guests have specific dietary needs. If you have any special requirements please don’t hesitate to speak with our friendly team. We’ll do our best to accommodate you and ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
